New vacancy: We are now looking for two experienced and dedicated product owners to lead and strengthen our teams in the development and management of our digital solutions. With its innovative service and product portfolio, Vigo IKS has a central position in the digitization of the county councils' services. The company's most important task is to simplify, improve and renew public administration through the development of shared IT solutions. What our projects have in common is that they are visible, have social value and are based on modern technology.

About the position

As Product Owner, you will be responsible for driving product development from concept to implementation, ensuring optimal performance and functionality, as well as being the link between technical teams and business units. You will be a key person in developing holistic and cutting-edge solutions, as a middle manager for our skilled developers in the technology section.

This will include, among other things:

  • Product ownership: Take responsibility for the entire lifecycle of our IT systems, from ideation to implementation and continuous improvement
  • Requirements specification: Collaborate with business units to understand and define the requirements for IT solutions, and translate these into specific requirements and tasks for technical teams
  • Management: Personnel management for the employees who are part of the teams you will be responsible for
  • Project management: Lead projects related to product development, ensuring progress and adherence to deadlines
  • Quality assurance: Implement and maintain quality standards for IT solutions, including testing and troubleshooting
  • Stakeholder collaboration: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Trend analysis: Stay on top of industry trends and technological developments to ensure our solutions are innovative and competitive

What does it take to succeed?

For this position, your motivation and personal qualities are the most important to us. We're looking for someone who loves and understands complex technical issues. You are humble enough to know that the best results are developed jointly, while taking the initiative and making things happen. If you have the ability to see the big picture, and are good at building relationships and coordinating work across different stakeholders, you're already well placed to succeed.

We would like you to have a technical education and expertise, for example in computer science, system development or similar. An understanding of the structure of computer systems, user needs and drivers, and how to translate this into future-oriented digital solutions is a major advantage. Solid experience can compensate for a lack of education. It is also desirable that you can demonstrate experience and good results from product and project management.

About Vigo IKS

Vigo IKS is an inter-municipal company that manages and further develops the counties' shared IT systems within upper secondary education, transport and technology. The company is owned by all the county authorities and the City of Oslo. Our national shared services are in demand by several national social actors who want to develop new services. The company is growing, and the number of employees has increased from 10 employees in 2020 to over 40 employees in the fall of 2023. In addition to permanent employees, the company buys employees from county councils around the country to support development processes and administrative tasks. We are headquartered in Porsgrunn and plan to offer office space in the Oslo area in 2024.
