The Cultural Rucksack (DKS) is a national scheme that ensures that all school pupils in Norway get to experience professional art and culture every year. Through the scheme, pupils have the opportunity to experience, familiarize themselves with and develop an understanding of professional art and cultural expressions. DKS is a collaborative project between the cultural and educational sectors at national, regional and local level, and includes all schools in Norway. The county municipality is responsible for regional coordination and programming, but the municipalities also have the opportunity to develop their own programs locally.
FINT has developed an API for The Cultural Rucksack that helps to streamline the current manual handling of information about schools, student numbers, grades, classes, etc. in the DKS portal and professional system. For the API to work as intended, access to school data is required from each individual county.
