There are several forms of examination in upper secondary education. Information on locally administered written examinations in the national cooperation is published on this website.

Centrally administered exam.

Written examination. The Directorate for Education and Training is responsible for the paper production and grading. The tasks and grading are the same for the whole country.

Locally administered exam.

  • Oral, oral-practical or practical exam. The county municipality is responsible for paper production and grading. You can read more about the rules for oral and oral-practical exams by clicking on this link Rules for oral exams and oral-practical exams (udir.no) For more information about these types of exams, please contact your county municipality.
  • Locally administered written exam. The county municipalities are responsible for paper production. The county councils have entered into a national collaboration for paper production and grading. Assignments and grading are the same for the whole country.
