VIGO OT

The service is designed for employees in county administration and employees in the follow-up service

Last modified: March 7, 2024

About the follow-up service

The follow-up service is a statutory service in upper secondary education, and is intended to follow up young people aged 15-21 who are not in education or employment. From the fall of 2024, the target group will be expanded to 24 years. The follow-up service will ensure inter-agency cooperation between municipal, county and state agencies for the best possible follow-up of the youth group in question, and will be an active driving force to ensure that the individual young person starts training, work or other competence-promoting measures.

National professional group Follow-up Service (NG-OT)

The National Professional Group for the Follow-up Service (NG-OT) was established in spring 2021. NG-OT's overall objective is to ensure that there is a national and local focus on quality in the work with young people outside education and work, and that all young people in the target group, regardless of which county they live in, receive good quality follow-up and a good offer so that they can complete their education.

NG-OT shall

  • Focus on research: What works, spread good interventions and do more of what works.
  • Improve the statistics to better use them for development: Collaborate with relevant developers, authorities and Vigo-IKS
  • Prepare national guidelines: Research, professional quality and expectation criteria.
  • Assist in making the target group more visible nationally and locally: National initiatives, laws and regulations, grants and rights.
  • Inform all county follow-up services: What's changing, training and updates, collaboration and development work.
  • Work to become a consultation body: National and local governance and development bodies.
